Effective opposition is already under attack, and has been for about as long as anyone living today can remember if they paid attention. There are so many points of attack that it almost impossible to keep track of them all ... and that is by design. The mainstream media is complicit in silencing opposition to the liberal agenda - and has been for quite some time. It seeks to besmirch and diminish any opposing views by picking and choosing what stories are presented to those depending on them for their information, how issues are interpreted, and acts to aggressively reduce damage when anything threatening to Democrat personalities 'gets out of the bag'. Obama is essentially the equivalent of the second coming to liberal theology, and having succeeded at tearing down the previous administration and the Republican party as a whole, they managed to install majority like-minded radicals in both houses of congress prior to the Messiah's arrival. This is their version of 'heaven', with the United States being torn down to its foundation and reconstructed in the liberal image. And they are still on the attack.
This is hope and change.
And through it all, they have missed the most significant part of the message of conservative thought - and so did Republicans, which led to their demise. For unlike those who believe that the American people are 'too dumb to know what is good for them' and in need of 'massive government programs and regulations' to oversee them, the majority of Americans are conservative, and free-thinking. They can be duped, but only to a certain extent. The sheepskin providing the wolve's disguise has already been torn from it, and enough Americans know the peril that has arrived at the doorstep to be deceived any longer, no matter what the 'powers that be' do at this stage.
We are on the brink of a real revolution, and I am not speaking in terms of armed revolt - unless tactics such as those some envision this administration capable of are attempted. I am talking about the American people overturning the mistake they were goaded into making in the election(s) of these socialist activists the media worked to propel to office through deceit and misrepresentation. I have faith in the American people and believe that threats foreign - and in this case - domestic will be resisted at all costs once they are exposed for what they are ... and they have been sufficiently revealed.
Dramatic and radical attempts to silence the 'opposition' from here on out will result in a backlash that those who believe they can control us cannot comprehend. America will survive this; like metal tempered in fire, it will emerge stronger for having endured the flames threatening it.
Watch and see.

Hes been trying since before he took office. THey have the equal time bill to shut down radio stations that broadcast right wing radio. Look, the fact is that air america collapsed because people who believe that crap they spew didn't have jobs, they couldn't buy stuff from the advertisers.

I'm sorry, perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought you said that BECK, HANNITY and LIMBAUGH were presenting 'effective opposition'. In what possible way could their additions to this discussion be labeled effective? Obama isn't going to shut them down. And they have nothing intelligent to add.
They already have been. You don't really think that "Color of Change" is acting completely independently and are not politically motivated, do you? Especially considering that a co-founder.. Van Jones.. is an Obama advisor now.
It's yet another ACORN-like organization just much newer and its roots haven't fully spread. It's sure heading in the same direction though.
