What exactly makes Obama so different from any other democrat?

It seems as though that people are talking about Obama as if he's a very different democrat. What exactly makes him very different from other democrats?What exactly makes Obama so different from any other democrat?
He's the most radical of democrats, really. Just take a look at his choices of people around him, before and even now he's a president. Also his similarly radical actions, stimulus package, sitting down with the Iranian president.
He's no different than any other high-level politician, period. He's an opportunist who lies like a rug for power and prestige. His stated policies on Mid-East issues, civil liberties, economics and a host of other issues is actually much less progressive than numerous Democrats in the House of Representatives.What exactly makes Obama so different from any other democrat?
I think part of it is the fact that he wasn't born elite. Yes, he did go to an ivy-league school and he is a very wealthy man, but he grew up with a single mother and worked his way up. I think this has influenced his ability to relate with people on a personal level.



Also, Obama's lack of experience means that he is less likely to follow the "rules" of Washington.



Finally I think his ability to appeal to youth and also to minorities could be the factor we need to unite the country.
He is far more to the left than the average Democrat.

Most Dems are middle of the road folks who love this country and would fight to defend her.

Obama is like Pelosi. They dislike what this country has stood for for 200 years and want to change her into a socialist/communist country where they will hold all the power and you'd be at risk if you try to disagree with them.

Ummm, hmmmm, let me see, think Ally think, , . . . . this was hard, and I've thought long and hard, but I can't think of a thing that makes him different than any other liberal Democrat. The change he campaigned on must have something to do with the color of the towels in the White House master bath.
He is not an ******, he inspires hope, something no other democrat has done since JFK... He has slightly dissapointed me since being elected, however, I think he will do a better job leading our country and doing what is best for our nation than any other democrat would. I don't like some of the people he appointed or the Guantanomo Bay decision but I like his economic package ideas.
I'm still trying to figure what made him so wonderful in the eyes of voters and the media. He's turned out to be a lying politician just like everybody else. There's not one "change we can believe in" that was all hype. I don't care what color he is or what religion he pretends to be at the moment-to-secure-voters. He's nothing special and is proving it.
he's a liberal conservative, as he is now showing since he got into the white house......he is far more right than anyone ever thought...he is Very demanding, and limits choice of others to accept his own ideals and ideas....didn't you notice that since he got into the white house that he has stopped asking "ordinary folks" what they think, and started telling them what to do....
obama is the same as the democrat but the only difference is his a black.and his the first african american president of the united states.

I'm not very sure. It can be the way he acts, his confidence. Anything. But I do not know much about him.

He's the first black president. That makes history.

He has plans for the United States, he wants `change` and everyone looks forward to that.

He gives us hope.
he is about as left as you can get.



His new slogan should be.

He is not different... he is going to take away liberties and my money. He is a jerk, and I hope he fails, fails, fails!
Obama is black, that is the only reason why he was elected.

He does what he says he's going to do.

He is hot.



He is caring for the american people and not for the $$$$$$$$ like every other politic......
He has modeled is administration around George Washington, FDR, and Lincoln.

He's the only president who ever wanted to send the soldiers home from the war in Iraq.
No-one can ever even count everyone, let alone discount them.



But going with the spirit, he's the highest ranking racial minority ever in office; it would be like an Irish being president during the Potato Famine, or a Native American during the Indian Wars.

He only has far less experience if you don't count his urban organizing, which is harder, more uphill, more time consuming, and gives less benefits than Governor, the usual path to the White House, or even than his Senate Job.
