What do you think about the Obama situation and his pastor?

Critics have called his pastor racist and anti-american, among other things, and they have pretty solid evidence backing this up. However, do the views of Obama's pastor and that he had a profound impact on Obams life make you question Obama himself? I am undecided on this issue myself. What do you think about the Obama situation and his pastor?
Well, anyone with an IQ over 30 now knows he's a liar.

He actually wants us to believe he did not know the hatred that was so prevalent in his church for over 20 years.
Regardless of his experience of growing up through the civil rights movement, he is above all a pastor. I could see this kind of attitude coming from an average person, but Wright is still an ordained person of the CHURCH and should act like it.

Rev. Wright is fairly old and came through the civil rights movement in the 60s, a very turbulent time. I did, too. If you had had rabid dogs and fire hoses turned on you just because you wanted to be able to vote, perhaps you wouldn't have a great opinion of some of the things that have gone on in America, either. It seems like a lot of white people are suddenly shocked to find out that black people and others may view America differently than they do. Shocked, I tell you!

Fortunately, every generation gets less and less racist, it seems. So many young people coming along today don't even understand what the fuss is about. Maybe if you had time, you could read on the internet about some of the things that happened when Rev. Wright was young, and it would help you understand better what he might be thinking and feeling (even if you still wouldn't agree with him). He preached for over 30 years, and the right-wing media has taken three sermons from that time and tried to make us think all the other sermons were the same. Hardly.

It's wrong for us to attempt to judge another person's feelings and beliefs when we have never experienced the things they have and have never walked in their shoes.

Most of the people who are going so crazy about the pastor weren't going to vote for Obama anyway; they are just using this, at the behest of Hannity mainly, to attempt to destroy him. First they tried saying he was a Muslim (apparently now they've realized he's a Christian), then that he went to a madrassa, etc., and none of that worked, so they seized on this.

I would like us to get back to being a country where Americans can respect each other and have different viewpoints without the politics of personal destruction. What do you think? Wouldn't that make our America a better country?
Absolutely. What do you think about the Obama situation and his pastor?
Write can butter his TOAST.
I think obama is lying , 20 yrs and this is the first time he heard of this. If this, by chance wasn't his views. I bet from Obamas wifes remarks that the pastors views are definitly her views. How can you not listen to someone and evidently put all of your trust in a person for 20 yrs and not be persuaded.

We need to be very careful about who we put in the white house.

If this pastors remarks don't scare us, then what will?
And how do you know the pastor's recent remarks "had a profound impact" on Obama? The pastor has become mentally unhinged; that's not Obama's fault. Quit listening to those slimesuckers on FOX who're pretending to be a legitimate news organization and that drug addict Rush Limbaugh!
i honestly believe that the media constantly keep throwing these obstacles toward Obama to tare him down... e.g. 1st he is not a christian, and now he is a christian, but his pastor is a racist and anti American.... The impact that Rev. Wright has on Obama is spiritual not Political Think about that... The media is so powerful in this country is it ridicules

what is the media's next attack on him... let me guess ? OBAMA AND BEYONCE ARE HAVING AN AFFAIR...LOL !! JUST WAIT... till the media breaks the story...lol
Of course it's a problem. This pastor is a complete racist and Obama considers him his life mentor!! This is the church that, for the past 20 years, he has CHOSEN to attend and WORSHIP at.

Gloria: You make no sense and have no point to make. You do however make me laugh...at you.

Stephen: here's your evidence

It is sickening.

Just how much more hate spewing is it gonna take for you to decide on this "issue"?

Stay tuned.. there's more "revelations" coming. You really don't think that the media is finished with osama/obama, do you?
For 20yrs yes.........
If someone can produce this "pretty solid evidence backing" up the claim that his pastor is "racist and anti-american" perhaps we can discuss that seriously. Until then, it can't possibly be an issue, can it?

"Stephen: here's your evidence"

Aw man, you had my hopes up for nothing. I thought somebody actually pulled out a bombshell that would knock me flat and it's the SAME THING that everybody's seen but nobody seems to listen to. What does he say about white people? What does he say about America? Does anyone actually stop and consider if any of his words have any merit?
Obama is a Criminal. His Pastor Too
Wright is an angry Black man ...not a racist.

OBAMA 08
No. Obama is the one running for President, not his pastor. Judge Obama by the bills he wrote and the political speaches he made, not the things his pastor said.
Have you ever heard someone you respect say something you really disagree with.

Being patriotic does not mean getting along and going along with the system or the president.

A lot of those pastors are really out there!

"Do not... regard the critics as questionable patriots. What were Washington and Jefferson and Adams but profound critics of the colonial status quo?"
I don't really care what Obama's pastor said, but I have a feeling Obama's going to be very mistake and gaff prone as the election winds on.
Obama has shown his true color by who he associates with.

The church he attends is severely racist. The minister screams racist remarks from the pulpit.. The congregation cheers. Barack himself is a liar. He has tried to say he did not know the pastor made these remarks. How could he not? They gave the lifetime achievement award to Screwy Louis Farrakhan. Obama is in recruiting videos for the church. Allegiance to Africa over the USA is in its manifesto.

If any white person went to a church where blacks were not welcome.. and they called our great country the Us of Black Panther A.. The white community would turn their backs on that person. Racism has no place in our country. I find Obama and the people who support him to be out of line
Do you not understand that Obama calls this guy his mentor?

Obama recently gave this church $22,500.00

Obama titled his book after one of this guys sermons

This guy baptized his daughter, and married he and his wife.

Obama prayed and counseled with this guy before announcing his run for the presidency.

This guy is a close personal friend of Obama...a little different than just some strange preacher/figurehead....

Like it or not...we are our friends...and these two are good friends.
Obama has considered this man a close personal friend and mentor. He has attended this church for 20 years, donating money and time. This man performed the marriage ceremony of obama and Michelle, and baptized their children. the problem is this..obama is telling us that he"did not know", "was not present" and was unaware of the inflammatory rhetoric that the pastor was teaching. So we have 2 choices..we can say..okay, he did not know, he gets a pass..(that means obama is either ..(a).not very intelligent...or (b)..lacks good judgment...OR we can say obama is not responsible for what his pastor teaches...and That begs the question ..if a white associates with KKK people for 20 years(even though they may never participate in the goings-on very much) ...how racist would you consider that person to be? Especially, if that person got on national TV and said.."but I did not know they did this or stood for that"..? That is where we are with obama..either he lied to us to save face..or he really does hold the same views as wright..and if he lied to us...how will we ever be able to trust him as President ? If he is racist and anti-American how can we trust him to do what is best for the USA??
