Is Obama, with his cabinet appointments creating a government akin to a Technocracy?

A Technocracy is a Government in which the various aspects of society are run by those that know them best. With Obama's Choices for his staff being all across the board and being focused more on their ability to do the job well then their ideology, is Obama making somewhat of a Technocracy? Is Obama, with his cabinet appointments creating a government akin to a Technocracy?
Possible. On the other hand we tried the 'faith-based', flag waving and cross shaking method of government. That didn't work out so well did it? Obama is a realistic kind of guy with a 'get the job done' mentality. He's a fact based decision maker, a good thing in a time when most of the 'facts' are against us. Does this mean he'll pull a prosperity rabbit out of his hat? No it doesn't. Sometimes in spite of the best efforts the ship sinks, the plane crashes and the boy doesn't get the girl. We may find a way out of this via the 'technocrats', but it's just as likely we'll all be characters as in 'Lost'.....forced to adapt to an entirely new situation with no obvious rescue in sight. Ah,well....we're Americans aren't we? Americans can do anything when properly motivated. I'd say the current situation is motivation enough to get us individually and collectively off out @sses and begin dealing with the reality we're in, not the reality we'd like. Wadda' 'ya think?
It sounds like what he's doing fits the definition of your word, if that's what you're asking. Is Obama, with his cabinet appointments creating a government akin to a Technocracy?
In a way this time round it is not a popularity test as to who

.

Gets what position

.

Kind of like I like that dude and I don't like the way that creep looks idea of picking who can do the job this time

.

Only this time Obama is using the idea of

,

Do you know what the hell you are doing

.

Before he even picks someone to be considered for the position

.
Sure - - - and Al Gore is an expert on environmental issues.

I do not trust any elected politician to have enough knowledge about science and technology to make a logical decision about anything.

Free market investors are far better equipped to make logical decisions on how they need to invest their money to supply the world with what it needs - at a profit - the Government will do it at a loss, with lots of waste, and fraud.

They will ruin lives. They will kill wildlife. They will produce little and all will suffer.

Hold on to your pocketbooks. Is Obama, with his cabinet appointments creating a government akin to a Technocracy?
Granting your definition I would say yes. But I don't agree that he is finding the best people for the jobs without regard to ideology. His selection for DCI shows that.
No, you've got to be kidding! The word you're looking for is Socialist.
Not at all. That would imply that he was appointing people which were experts in particular fields. That would be encouraging and real change. What he seems to be doing is just more of the same or worse. He's appointing a lot of old pols from the Clinton years. Furthermore, he in my opinion did the unthinkable. It was rummered that in two years he would replace Fed Chairman Bernake with old pol Larry Summers. The last president to do something like this was Carter who appointed Miller to Fed Chairman which resulted in disaster. Later he was forced to appoint a pro, Volker. From then presidents have appointed Fed Chairman with good technical credentials. It looks like Obama wants to go back to the old method of putting pols in office rather than the technical knowledgeable
Good answers, everyone!!

Nah, it's more like a Hollywood movie with an over-representation of minority stuffed shirts.
