How come Obama supporters chastise people for voting for McCain?

They never seem to like the fact that I'd vote for McCain over Obama (even though Clinton was my initial choice). I get called a racist (mind you, I'm black myself) and a "traitor".

There are many Clinton supporters who are threatening to do this, but where's the rule saying we must vote for only the Democratic nominee? Are the Democrats that greedy for power that they need to cling to as many votes as possible? How come Obama supporters chastise people for voting for McCain?
The Obama supporters who chant “McBush” and “McSame” and babble about McCain “serving Bush’s third term” are showing their ignorance and immaturity. They can’t answer a question or discuss an issue so they resort to childish tantrums. They don't seem to mind that their leader failed to serve his first term, even after saying he would do so.

They cite a McCain statement in which he said, “The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should.”

Putting semantics aside, if McCain doesn’t understand economics “as well as [he] should,” does that mean his detractors do? Does that mean Obama does? Of course not. Who hasn’t been in a classroom when another student was called upon to answer a question and didn’t have the answer? And what went through their heads when that happened? Did they think “That guy’s an idiot – I know the answer!” or “I’m glad the professor/teacher didn’t call on ME!” I'll bet it's the second one.

Some of the clowns who still need to grow up need to read what McCain said, not what they wish he would have said. He said he hadn’t understood “economics” as well as he should have, not that he hadn’t understood the “economy.” The discipline we call “economics” is a broad one that covers a multitude of “laws” and theories – and more of the latter than the former. Many of the comments posted here by Obama’s minions of know-it-alls show absolutely no understanding of economics or even of the economy, particularly the global economy.

Put in terms even the Obamaloons can understand, you don’t have to be an economist to understand the economy any more than you have to be a meateorologist to understand the weather. If it’s raining you need an umbrella, not a quick course in how weather pattens form and play out.

I think this is a waste of time. It appears that many Obamaloons do not understand even the weather. They don’t seem to know enough to come in out of the rain.
Because voting for McSame is the same as voting for a Bush third term. How come Obama supporters chastise people for voting for McCain?
What they do not understand is that it is very normal to not vote for a racist, anti-American man who has the economic sense of Jimmy Carter. We do not need another Jimmy Carter.

1334...So, McCain has voted against Bush right at 1/2 of the time. Both Hillary and Barack (when he votes) have voted against Bush right at 1/2 of the time. McCain has voted more like Hillary and Barack than like GW. So, other than McCain is telling the truth about the war, and the other two are lying, how is McCain ANYTHING like Bush?

Pookie...you are kidding, right? The LIBERAL courts have been stripping our rights at light speed. The conservatives are more likely to stick by the Constitution as it was intended. The liberals have called it a living document and re-interpret it for today...and in doing so are taking away freedoms. GET REAL! Do we want 3 more conservative judges? No, I want all judges to be conservative.
I swear Obama supporters would vote for Bin Laden or even Farrakhan. Whatever Obama and his wife say......How come Obama supporters chastise people for voting for McCain?
No, we're not greedy for power.

But why would Democrats cross over to vote for a Republican like George Bush?

I wouldn't call those people Democrats but bandwagoners.
For people that claim to be " more educated" they sure act very uneducated

I find 94% of blacks voting for a black man calling anyone a " racist" very hypocritical

Voting for McCain is not a Bush 3rd term

Voting for Obama is however a vote for Jimmy Carters second term
well, if you dont mind four more years---then go ahead and vote for McBush!
because if you vote for McCain it is the same as voting for bush and we will still have all the same problems if every one who is a Democrat votes a party ticket it would mean that we have a Democrat in the white house and the house and Senate are Democrat and then there would be a change if a republican is voted into the white house NOTHING will change.AND WE NEED THE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I certainly wont chastize you for voting for anyone...however I will say this.If you like what we currently have, wish to have 3 new supreme court justices appointed by a conservative, when the court has already begun removing our rights little by little,if you desire more war, more poverty and more theft of our country, feel free to vote for McCain. If you truly believe we will be better off with 4 more years of basically the same, vote for McCain.

However since Hillary and Obama have virtually the same plans for the future of the country,I fail to see how voting for McCain in your case makes sense, but you are your own person and will make your own choice.Do what you think is best for you and your country.
Not only that, but they repeat the same argument ad nauseum that voting for Mccain is akin to voting for bush.

To date no one has satisfactorily answered my points

If Mccain is so like Bush, then

1) Why did the DNC even consider him as a running mate to Kerry in '04?

2) Why was the republican establishment so against him as their candidate?

3) Why are independents and moderate democrats voting for him?

4) Mccain-Feingold, Mccain-Kennedy, Mccain %26amp; the gang of 14; how is he able to work with the most liberal of senators if he is like Bush?

They are unable to see past the fact that Obama is nothing but a gloried con-artist.

Democrat writing Hiliary in or voting for Mccain.
That's not true. I am an obama supporter that have great respect for Hillary and McCain. The only reason I don't agree with McCain is because he is adopting a lot of Bushes policies. and he publicly admitted to knowing very little about the economy...That killed it for me. and to ans your question Benjamin, McCain has changed from the McCain we use to know. He is doing everything to please his fellow republicans..
It's just crazy to us you would vote Republican even though Hillary is the biggest Dem out there. It seems your idea of "CHANGE" hurts Hillary.
Because the Republicans have been ruining our country for years, and voting for John Dubya McCain would finish off the destruction of our nation and our economy that Bush started. Why in God's name would ANYBODY vote for another Republican after that?
As an Obama supporter, I feel you have the right to vote as you chose. We Obama supporters are "chastised" as well. I don't downgrade anyone for their opinion but I am often curious, especially of someone like you. Why would you vote for McCain if your views are those of Clinton's? I want Obama to win, but if Clinton is the nominee, I will definately vote for her. Who do you think Clinton will vote for if she is not the nominee? You can't believe the "sourgrapes" stuff that is currently going around that she is trying to sabatoge Obama so that she can run in 2012. I could never vote for another 4 years of the same politics we have endured through the Bush administration.
I really wish I knew the answer, but I'll tell you what I think based on my experiences.

First of all, most of Senator Obama's supporters hate President Bush blindly, so they view any comment that might even remotely support any position he has taken as ignorance, stupidity, and being uninformed. Those positions include opposition to the election of Senator Obama.

Second, in part because they believe they are more enlightened, they think they know what I need better than I do. One phrase that constantly gets under my skin is the parroting of of Frank Rich's statement about people "voting against their own economic interest" because it presupposes everyone has the same economic conditions surrounding them. Economic conditions vary from state to state and even from county to county (especially in a state as diverse as New York) so what is in my best interest here near the Canadian border may not be the same interest as the Nebraska farmer.

Third, it appears to me they do not understand the concept that some people are willing to sacrifice economic gain if it flies against a moral principal of some sort, and I don't just mean religious. I personally would rather have a few more years of tough economic times to prevent someone I deem as too far to the left steer the country in that direction. I have dared many people to read Senator Obama's proposals and platforms, and then read the Socialist Party of America's documents from the early twentieth century. There are many similarities, and I personally would rather have a tough life in a free market republic than any life in a socialistic society.

The biggest one people can not understand from me is how Senator Obama has his views backwards on rural voters. His remarks about bitter voters and clinging alienated many people, including myself, because in prettier English than used by many (antipathy towards those not like them) he essentially called a huge segment of our population prejudiced and racist. A lot of his supporters fail to understand that once offended like that, no amount of empirical data on the economy is going to matter.

The wisest Democrat I have heard recently has been Rahm Emmanuel, who has dared ask his party "What's wrong with voting for your values?" No one has answered him yet.
I must say I admire your honesty. People talk about how Clinton and Obama have the same policy platform, but anyone can write policy and put it up on a website. I also think about who would be the better "change agent" in order to actually carry out these policy plans. It comes back to experience again, and for me it's down to Hillary.

The fact is, as a voter on a more practical level, we also look at what a candidate’s administration might look like in the bigger scheme of things. It's stuff like cabinet choices, who that candidate would surround themselves with in terms of friends/insiders/advisors ... then there's voting/legislative histories etc. For me, this is precisely why an Obama presidency would look very different from a Clinton or McCain led administration, and this is why on experience alone, Hillary, and then McCain are simply better options in my mind.

Call it what you will, but like you, I will be supporting "the candidate" over "the party."

And like you, it's Clinton now, or McCain in November.
because voting for mccain is like asking for another 4 years of bush, maybe even worse. do you like what this country has become under the bush administration? if the answer is no, why would you be voting for mccain? if the answer is yes, you should just get out of america
