How important is it that Obama be not only the first black president, but a very good President?

It seems to me that history will look kindly on Obama either way. However, if we look at Jackie Robinson in baseball, for example. He wasn't just "the first black guy". He was actually an All-Star second basemen and was in the upper echelon in the league.



How important is it that Obama is one of our best President's? What if he is not? What Will this mean anything for future minorities?



How important is it that Obama be not only the first black president, but a very good President?
It means almost everything



He has the support of the black community and much of the hispanic community right now but if he doesn't do a good job he will be seen as a failure. However if he does a good job it will probably motivate countless black students to try harder.

If Barack Obama would apply for a job with the FBI or with the Secret Service,

he would be disqualified because of his past association with William Ayers,

a known terrorist.



If he is elected President he would not qualify to be his own body guard! (because secret service protects presidents)how in the hell is he even qualified to be a candidate for the presidency.

but, americans are DEFINETELY dumb enough to vote for this guy
i dont really care about race. but i like the idea that the country is moving forward. i think he will be one of the greeatest presidents ever. he is so much differnt. and serious and really does care about things. alot of people compare him to lincoln, and he gonna be awesome! i think he could make things alot better for everone in the u.s. and has the potental to change the world and views on alot of things. when he talks people listen. awesome man.How important is it that Obama be not only the first black president, but a very good President?
It is very important to bring this country together. This election has been draining for both sides. There is so much hatred, that it is frightening. Reagan was known as the great communicator. Hopefully if Obama gets elected he will be great organizer.
Best President? I hope you not comparing him to our founding fathers (Lincoln, Washington, ect.)? I'm more concerned by the fact that Obama does not know what he is doing. He is playing with fire, and Americans are going to get burned...

Being the first black president is an accomplishment. Being an excellent president is a huge accomplishment.
